About This Race

Lace up for an unforgettable adventure at the Triple Dam 10K, set to take place on August 30, 2026, in picturesque Perkinsville, VT. This unique 10K trail run, open to both runners and walkers, offers a scenic and engaging course perfect for experiencing the beauty of late summer in Vermont. As part of both the Western New Hampshire Trail Running Series and the Upper Valley Running Series, this event also proudly benefits the Springfield High School Cross Country team, adding a layer of community support to your race day.

The course itself is a beautiful loop, starting and finishing at the historic Old Power Dam on the Black River. Runners will navigate gently rolling terrain, traversing a delightful mix of grassy trails and dirt roads as they journey downriver to the North Springfield Reservoir, past the North Springfield Dam, and towards the Stoughton Pond Dam. A highlight that truly sets this race apart is the exhilarating mid-race crossing directly through the Black River. Expected to be calf-deep and slow, a safety rope and lifeguard will be on hand, ensuring a refreshing and memorable moment that feels particularly invigorating in the typical late-August humidity, where highs can reach around 78°F and lows around 53°F.

After conquering the trails and the refreshing river crossing, runners will be greeted back at the Power Dam Recreation Area, where the finish line awaits next to the area's renowned swimming hole—the perfect spot to cool down and celebrate. Aid is available at mile 3 with water, and post-race festivities include water, electrolyte drinks like Nuun, delicious Wellwood Orchards cider donuts, Mama Kapfer chocolate chip cookies, and Otter Pops. With ample parking and a welcoming atmosphere that even allows well-behaved, short-leashed dogs, the Triple Dam 10K promises a fantastic race day experience for everyone.
