Prepare for an exhilarating multi-sport challenge at TriWalloon, set against the stunning backdrop of Walloon Lake in Boyne City, Michigan, on Saturday, July 18, 2026. This highly anticipated event, a favorite among athletes from across the state, offers a sprint distance triathlon, a duathlon, and an aquabike, making it perfect for everyone from first-time participants to seasoned competitors. Relay teams are also welcomed, fostering a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. Known for its pristine waters and sandy bottom, Walloon Lake provides an idyllic setting for the 600-meter triangular swim, which starts and finishes at the docks of Legacy Marina.

The scenic journey continues with a 12.4-mile out-and-back bike course along the picturesque country roads flanking the south side of Walloon Lake, featuring a few gently rolling hills to keep cyclists engaged. Transitioning smoothly from bike to run, athletes will embark on a fairly flat, two-loop 3.1-mile run through the charming Walloon Lake Township, culminating in a beautiful finish along the lake's shores back at the park next to Legacy Marina. Duathletes will kick off their race with a 1.6-mile run, followed by the bike and then the full 3.1-mile run, while aquabike participants will complete the swim and bike legs. An aid station is strategically placed about halfway through the run course to support athletes as they navigate their second loop.

TriWalloon has garnered a strong reputation since its inception in 2017, growing from 120 athletes to selling out with over 350 participants annually, testament to its engaging course and welcoming environment. Beyond the thrill of competition, 100% of the proceeds from TriWalloon benefit Bridge Street Ministries, adding a meaningful charitable dimension to your race experience. Participants can expect typical race day conditions in mid-July to be around 85°F for highs and 60°F for lows, with a minimal 11% chance of precipitation, promising an ideal day for racing. Finishers will receive a medal and enjoy post-race food.
