The UAH Spring Road Race invites runners to an exhilarating 8K challenge through the picturesque campus of the University of Alabama in Huntsville on Sunday, March 1, 2026. This popular event, organized by the Huntsville Track Club, kicks off at 2:00 PM CST from the UAH Intermodal Parking Facility, promising an uplifting atmosphere for both seasoned runners and newcomers alike. Participants can anticipate a USATF-certified course, featuring a relatively flat, mostly out-and-back route that includes the scenic campus greenway.
Runners will find support on the course with one conveniently located aid station, ensuring hydration and encouragement along the way. Beyond the athletic endeavor, the UAH Spring Road Race is deeply rooted in community spirit, dedicating its proceeds to benefit the Huntsville Dialysis Center in memory of long-time HTC member Earl Jacoby. Typical race day conditions in early March in Huntsville, known as "Rocket City", often present pleasant running weather, with historical highs around 61°F and lows around 40°F, and a roughly 18% chance of precipitation.
