Get ready for a unique and exhilarating challenge at the UltiMutt Race, where you and your canine companion will conquer an obstacle course designed to strengthen your bond. Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 11, 2026, as this one-of-a-kind event takes place at the picturesque Tryon Resort in Mill Spring, NC. Participants can choose between a 5K or 2.5K distance, navigating a course featuring over 17 expertly crafted obstacles.

The course is set amidst the stunning backdrop of Tryon Resort, offering rolling hills, sparkling ponds, and rippling brooks, alongside plenty of muddy spots, uphill climbs, and downhill slides. All obstacles have been designed by canine agility and fitness professionals to ensure they are appropriate for both dog and human teams. Whether you aim for the top spot in the competitive wave (where skipping an obstacle means 30 squats!) or prefer a leisurely untimed fun run, the UltiMutt Race promises lasting memories. Dogs must be on a leash at all times, with hands-free leashes and harnesses highly recommended. Typical race day conditions in April offer pleasant weather, with highs around 74°F and lows near 52°F, and only a 16% chance of precipitation, providing an ideal environment for you and your pup. Strategic water stops will be available along the course, providing fresh water for both human and canine participants. An EMT/First Aid station and Banfield Veterinary Technician station are typically on-site, with volunteer obstacle monitors ensuring safety throughout the race.

Beyond the thrilling race, the UltiMutt experience includes the vibrant Noble Dog Fest, a free-admission festival running from 9 AM to 2 PM. This lively hub features packet pick-up, a dog wash-off station, food trucks, the Noble Nessie's Craft Biergarten, live music, and a vendor village with over 40 local shops. The start line is organized in waves, with dogs separated by barriers and small groups of runners starting every 30 seconds to prevent crowding and ensure a smooth experience. Finishing the race earns you sponsored race photos, a commemorative medal, a collectible iron-on patch, and access to the Noble Dog Fest. A portion of race fees and 100% of donations are given to Greenville County Animal Care, making your participation a stride towards saving lives. You can even make it a weekend getaway, with lodging options available at Tryon Resort.
