Prepare for an unforgettable challenge at the Ultramaraton Baja Trail 50 & Carrera 30k, returning on March 15, 2026, to the stunning landscapes east of Playas de Rosarito, BC. This eleventh edition of the acclaimed race invites runners to conquer either a demanding 50K ultramarathon, starting at 7:00 a.m., or a rigorous 30K race, kicking off at 7:30 a.m.. Known as one of the toughest trail races in the Baja California region, the event consistently draws a vibrant community of trail runners from both Mexico and the United States.
The course itself is a diverse and rewarding journey, featuring a blend of hills, forests, rivers, and creeks. Runners will navigate relentless slopes and technical terrain, including running along ridge lines and ascending to the summit of Coronel Hill. From this vantage point, participants are treated to fantastic panoramic views stretching across Rosarito all the way to the San Diego coastline. With over 6,500 feet of elevation gain for the 50K distance, expect very steep uphills and challenging downhills that will test every runner's resolve. Enthusiastic volunteers provide excellent support at well-stocked aid stations throughout the course.
Held at Rancho Dagninos, this meticulously organized event promises a breathtaking yet formidable experience. Typical race day conditions in mid-March offer pleasant weather, with highs around 69°F and lows near 47°F, alongside a minimal 6% chance of precipitation, creating ideal running conditions for a true trail adventure.
