USATF-NE Road Mile Championships

Lace up for speed and strategy at the USATF-NE Road Mile Championships, returning for its third year on July 19, 2026, in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. This premier mile race, hosted at Hopkinton High School on Hayden Rowe Street, offers a rare opportunity to test your limits over the classic distance on a championship course. As a key event in the USATF-NE Road Race Championship Grand Prix series, it draws a competitive field vying for individual and team honors, and for the title of "Fastest New England Miler" in their respective states.

The out-and-back course promises a dynamic mile experience. Runners begin with the full width of the road before gradually moving to the right of cones around the quarter-mile mark. A straightforward turnaround at a traffic island leads you back, maintaining the right side of the cones until the three-quarter mile point, where the full road opens up for a strong finish. While largely fast, the course features some elevation changes, including a slight climb to the turnaround, adding a strategic element to your race. Runners can also appreciate approximately 50% shade coverage on race morning, providing some relief from the typical race day conditions, which usually see highs around 85F and lows around 65F.
