Viking 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon

Get ready to channel your inner Viking at the Viking 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon, set to conquer Stillwater, Oklahoma, on Saturday, February 7, 2026. This popular event, part of the US Road Running Race Series, offers a fantastic race day experience amidst the scenic beauty of Boomer Lake Park. Runners can choose their challenge from a 5K, 10K, or the demanding 13.1-mile Half Marathon. Expect invigorating typical race day conditions with highs around 51°F and lows near 27°F, and a minimal 7% chance of precipitation, providing a crisp atmosphere for your run.

The courses are designed as engaging out-and-back routes, winding along the picturesque surroundings of Boomer Lake Park on a generally flat to gently rolling paved surface, making them enjoyable for all levels of runners. The 5K consists of a single 3.11-mile loop, while 10K participants will complete two loops. Those tackling the Half Marathon will embark on four loops of a slightly longer 3.28-mile out-and-back segment. A generous 3-hour and 30-minute time limit for the Half Marathon and 2 hours for the 5K/10K ensures ample time to comfortably complete your chosen distance.

The race kicks off promptly at 8:00 AM from Shelter #3 at Boomer Lake Park, conveniently located next to the Boomer Park Splash Pad on the west side of the lake. Beyond the picturesque course, the Viking race fosters a strong community spirit. All finishers will proudly receive a unique, themed medal to commemorate their achievement, and for those with a flair for fun, a "Best Costume" award adds an extra element of festivity to the event. Remember to register in advance, as on-site registration is not available, with packet pickup beginning 30 minutes before the start.
