Viking 5K & 13.1M at Hickory, NC (06)

Embark on a Viking adventure at the Viking 5K & 13.1M in Hickory, NC, set to conquer the scenic routes on Saturday, February 7, 2026. This event, part of the exciting US Road Running Race Series, invites runners of all paces to test their endurance across two challenging distances: a 5K and a Half Marathon. The course features a 2.18-mile out-and-back loop; 5K participants will complete this twice, while Half Marathoners will tackle it six times. Prepare for typical race day conditions with historical weather showing highs around 52F and lows around 31F, and a modest 12% chance of precipitation.

Runners will begin their journey at 8:30 AM, with the starting line conveniently located across the street from the corner of 16th Ave Pl NW and 12th St Dr NW, near Hickory City Park. Parking and restrooms are readily available at the Trailhead. Packet pickup opens 30 minutes before the race, concluding just 10 minutes before the start, so early arrival is encouraged. Please note that all registrations must be completed online via RunSignup, as there will be no on-site registration.
