Viking 5K and Half Marathon

Lace up for an exciting challenge at the Viking 5K and Half Marathon, set to take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in Tyler, TX. This event promises a memorable day for runners of all levels, with typical race day conditions boasting comfortable highs around 66°F and lows around 45°F, and only a 14% chance of precipitation, creating ideal running weather.

Both the 5K and the 13.1-mile Half Marathon courses offer a scenic out-and-back experience. The 5K runners will complete the course twice for a total of 3.1 miles, while half marathoners will tackle the route six times to reach the 13.1-mile distance. This unique multi-loop format allows runners to familiarize themselves with the terrain and focus on their performance. All participants will be rewarded with a finisher medal to commemorate their accomplishment.

Held at Southside Park, with convenient parking available by the Crossroads Tennis Courts on Prairie View Road, the race kicks off at 8:00 AM. Packet pickup starts 30 minutes before the race, concluding promptly 10 minutes prior to the start, and it's important to note there is no on-site registration.
