Walnut Creek 5 & Dime

Prepare for an exhilarating trail running experience at the Walnut Creek 5 & Dime, set for February 7, 2026, in scenic North Garden, VA. This event offers both a challenging 10-mile "Dime Route" and a spirited 5K "Nickel Route," taking runners through the beautiful 525-acre Walnut Creek Park. The course is approximately 90% wooded single and double track, with the remaining 10% on open cross country and jeep roads, featuring spectacular views of the park's 45-acre lake. Runners on the 5K can expect 446 feet of elevation gain, while those tackling the 10-miler will conquer 1285 feet of ascent over varied terrain, including steep hills and bumpy paths.

Organized by the Charlottesville Area Trail Runners (CATs), the Walnut Creek 5 & Dime is quickly building a reputation for its welcoming atmosphere, suitable for both seasoned trail veterans and those looking to try their first off-road race. A unique draw of this event is that it utilizes a section of the renowned TJ100k course, offering participants a chance to run in the "footsteps of legends".
