Wild Hearts Superhero 5K, 10K & Kids Super Sprint

Don your cape and unleash your inner hero at the Wild Hearts Superhero 5K, 10K & Kids Super Sprint on June 13, 2026, at the iconic Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, KY. This superhero-themed event offers a truly scenic course entirely on paved roads, providing a beautiful backdrop for your run or walk. The 5K course is generally flat and welcoming, even for those pushing strollers. For those seeking a greater challenge, the 10K route includes Van Meter Road, known for its "challenging hills," and is best suited for runners who can maintain a 15-minute per mile pace. Typical race day conditions in mid-June feature highs around 84F and lows around 63F, with an 18% chance of precipitation.

More than just a race, this event is a vibrant celebration of community and courage, benefiting Kerrington's Heart Inc., a non-profit dedicated to supporting Kentucky families with children battling congenital heart defects. Runners can enjoy free race photos and a lively atmosphere complete with a DJ. Unique to this event are the fantastic costume contests with prizes for categories like Superhero Boy & Girl, Superhero Man & Woman, Super Pet, Super Stroller, and Best T-shirt, encouraging participants of all ages to embrace the superhero spirit. Dogs on fixed-length leashes are also welcome to join the fun.

All registered participants receive a commemorative race shirt, while 10K finishers are awarded a special medal and enamel collector pins to commemorate their achievement. Little heroes aged 2-10 can participate in their own untimed Kids Super Sprint, receiving a participant medal. Both the 5K and 10K races are chip-timed and begin at 8:00 AM, with the Kids Super Sprint kicking off at 7:30 AM, all starting and finishing within the picturesque grounds of Keeneland.
