Wildcat 5K and Family Fun Run

Gear up for the 18th annual Wildcat 5K and Family Fun Run, returning to McLean, VA, on Saturday, March 7, 2026! This beloved event, sponsored by Saint Luke School, offers a fantastic way to kick off your spring running season. Participants can choose between a chip-timed 5K or a delightful 0.5-mile Family Fun Run.

The 5K course is renowned for being shady and scenic, winding through the gently rolling hills of McLean's neighborhoods. Runners will navigate a mix of pavement and sidewalk paths, offering both moderate ascents and flat stretches, making it enjoyable for various fitness levels. The shorter Family Fun Run provides a festive route around Saint Luke Church and Saint Luke School, with participants earning commemorative finisher medals. Typical race day conditions in early March see highs around 50°F and lows around 30°F, with a minimal 12% chance of precipitation, providing crisp running weather.

Beyond the run, the Wildcat 5K is celebrated for its vibrant, family-friendly atmosphere. The experience culminates in fabulous post-race festivities featuring refreshments, food, music, moon bounces, and a variety of games, ensuring fun for all ages. All registrants receive a "super cool T-shirt," guaranteed for those who sign up by February 20, 2026. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, top St. Luke Faculty, and the top three in numerous age categories. The race starts and finishes at Saint Luke School, located at 7005 Georgetown Pike, McLean, VA.
