About This Race

Prepare to be captivated by the Wy'east Wonder, a stunning point-to-point trail race set for June 27, 2026, in the breathtaking Mount Hood Parkdale, Oregon. Offering 50-mile, 50-kilometer, and a new 50K Relay option, this event from Go Beyond Racing promises an unforgettable journey along the majestic slopes of Mount Hood, known as Wy'east by the Multnomah Tribe. Runners will traverse mostly smooth, flowy single-track trails primarily on Gunsight Ridge and Surveyor's Ridge, treated to nearly continuous, spectacular views of Mt. Hood, the vast eastern Oregon desert, and the picturesque Hood River Valley orchards.

The Wy'east Wonder courses are renowned for their scenic beauty and net downhill profiles. The 50M route features approximately 7,600 feet of elevation gain and 10,600 feet of loss, while the 50K boasts around 4,300 feet of gain and 7,200 feet of loss. Both distances culminate in a challenging descent on the Oak Ridge trail, a "sturdy and rocky" section dropping almost 2,000 feet in under three miles, ensuring a memorable finish for tired quads. Aid stations are well-stocked with a variety of ultra-runner essentials, including gels, electrolyte drinks, soft drinks, PB&Js, and an array of snacks. Crews can offer support at the accessible Aquaduct aid station, which runners visit twice. Typical race day conditions in late June bring pleasant highs around 63°F and lows near 43°F, with only a 10% chance of precipitation.

Starting with a shuttle from the Red Barn Park in Parkdale to the point-to-point starts (the 50M begins at Bennett Pass Sno Park), the race concludes back at the Red Barn Park, where a lively post-race celebration awaits with burritos and local beverages. Runners consistently praise the event for its exceptional organization, clearly marked courses, and the sheer beauty of the landscape. The Wy'east Wonder stands out as a truly unique destination race, celebrated for its "views for days and all the wildflowers".
